The elephant shaped salt and pepper shakers that I purchased at the Koh Sumai airport were cute, but refilling them revealed two clear problems: the refill openings were so small that refilling them almost always resulted in spills. Also, the refill opening and the dispensing homes were at opposite ends of the shaker, so flipping the shaker over to refill it caused the contents to spill out from the dispenser side.
Always tipped over when trying to refill and fell over.
Wider base allowed for easier refills.
To solve the second problem, I designed two blockers to seal the holes while the shakers are flipped for refilling. The salt shaker blocker has one pin to plug its single hole, and the pepper shaker blocker has three pins to cover its three holes.
